President Dalia Grybauskaitė: Lithuanian media might be censored by oligarchs

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė has said the country's media might be censored by oligarchs.

"I am really glad the Lithuanian media is truly free and uncensored. Except, I would say, there might be some oligarchic censorship. But in terms of people and government, there is true freedom of the press," the president said on Monday when Lithuania marks the Day of Resumption of Free Press, Language, and Book.

She also says that compared to the Western media, the Lithuanian media lacks responsibility and correctness.

"Compared to foreign countries, the Lithuanian media lacks a little responsibility and correctness that I see in the West," Grybauskaitė said.
