Prime Minister calls on world Lithuanian youth to fulfill their ambitions in Lithuania faster

Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius has called on participants of a meeting of the World Lithuanian Youth, starting on Thursday, to fulfill their ambitions in Lithuanian faster.

"Young people who will take over responsibility for Lithuania in 10-20 years are gathering for this meeting, and these young people, who are really different and rapidly changing as compared to the time when we were a little younger. These young people know the world, are not afraid of it, have a lot of good ambitions. So welcoming their meeting, I would like to wish them to fulfill their ambitions in Lithuania faster," Kubilius told the Žinių Radijas (News Radio) on Thursday.

The prime minister also called the Thursday meeting in Prienai, southern Lithuania, a great event and said that "Lithuania really needs that power, that future perspective, that ambition."

The four-day meeting will involve various reports, discussions on business, scientific, cultural and political issues, creative workshops, sports tournaments, meetings with famous people, a career fair as well as movies, theater, concerts, and fashion shows.

Singer and architect Algirdas Kaušpėdas, fashion designer Juozas Statkevičius, basketball player Jonas Valančiūnas, singer Andrius Mamontovas, director Dalia Ibelhauptaitė and businessman Antanas Guoga are among the event's ambassadors and speakers.

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė is the patron of the event organized by the World Lithuanian Youth Association.
