Snow, blizzard, black ice in weekend forecasts for Lithuania

The upcoming weekend will bring a sudden weather change to Lithuania, with snow and blizzards following a rather dry and chilly week, according to the Hydrometeorological Service.

It will snow on Saturday night, with heavy snow showers in places. Blizzards and blac ice are also expected in places amid southeastern, eastern winds of 7-12 m/s, with up to 15-17 m/s in gusts. The mercury will drop to -1-6C.

Snow and sleet are also forecast for Saturday, with warning of black ice in places. Temperatures will range from -1C to 4C.

Sunday will bring a bit less of precipitation and winds will die down. Temperatures will range from -2-7C at night to 0-5C during the day.

Snow and sleet are also expected to come back next week.
