“Lithuania, the only one among all European Union (EU) states, has not yet imposed tighter checks for cars with diesel fuel engines. We are the last to do that, but we still implement this EU regulatory provision from 1 March,” Transport minister Eligijus Masiulis told the reporters on Monday.
The requirements for emissions would become stricter, he said adding that the technical inspection fee would be raised by 12 litas (EUR 3.5) due to “increased costs”.
“And still it is the lowest technical inspection fee in the EU,” the minister said.
