A Vilnius court overruled an appeal filed by Danish citizen Bjarke Gall Berner Schultz, former head of the Scandinavian Business Center, against his detention. Schultz is currently in Denmark.

Schultz, who is suspected of child molesting and possession of pornographic materials, appealed against the detention via his Lithuanian lawyer.

The arrest warrant was issued after the Dane failed to appear in a court hearing and a court-appointed psychiatric examination.

The lawyer said his client was seriously ill and wanted the court ruling annulled. He acknowledged Schultz did not ask for a sanction to leave Lithuania, as he knew his request would have been rejected.

Meanwhile prosecutor Rolandas Imbrasas asked the court to overrule the plea.

"Medical care in Lithuania is advanced and not worse than in Denmark. One cannot leave by way of violating the measure of supervision measure," Imbrasas said.

Schultz has already been found guilty of raping a Lithuanian female and is currently standing charges of molesting a small girl and possessing pornographic content. He pleads not guilty.
