Norwegian citizen Steinar Westby was sentenced to seven years in prison. Lithuanian citizen Andrei Sochor will spend six years and the other two Lithuanians, Salvijus Markaitis and Dmitri Druzinin, will serve five years each. Real prison terms will be shorter as their pre-trial detention was included.
The court also awarded a compensation of 30,000 litas (EUR 8,685) for non-pecuniary damages to the victim, Bjorn K., who was imprisoned in an apartment on Gediminas Avenue in Vilnius in October, 2011, and later freed by anti-terror police. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of 250,000 Norwegian kroner.
