"Andrius Kubilius had received the invitation to participate in Davos World Economic Forum on 19 September from the head of the forum, professor Klaus Schwab, ad personam and ad functionam, he and Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis were to present the success of the Baltic countries in combating the economic crisis. Following government reshuffle after the elections, the invitation is no longer valid," reads a response sent by the party to BNS.
The mandate of the Kubilius-led Cabinet and his term as the prime minister expired on 13 December.
The meeting is traditionally held in the Swiss ski resort Davos in January.
Lithuanian leaders have not been invited to the prestigious forum over past years. Lithuania's then president Valdas Adamkus attended the meeting in 2001, 2008 and 2009, but Lithuanian heads-of-state did not receive invitations in later years.
