Algirdas Butkevičius, Valdis Dombrovskis, and Andrus Ansip will meet in an informal work session of the Baltic Council of Ministers in the Latvian resort town to discuss key regional issues, including joint transport and energy projects, Lithuania's upcoming EU presidency, the Baltic Council of Ministers' reform, and cooperation with the Baltic Assembly, the Lithuanian government's press office has said.
The prime ministers will attend a Baltic regional development forum in Riga before their informal meeting.
The Baltic energy ministers also plan to meet shortly to discuss the future of the Visaginas project. Butkevičius has said that this meeting should bring more clarity as to what direction the project should take.
Informal meetings of the Baltic prime ministers are held once a year in one of the three countries.
