The Constitutional Court was approached by President Dalia Grybauskaitė in response to a plea from the Order and Justice party, which questioned the election body's decision to deem the voting results invalid.

Algimantas Dumbrava of the Order and Justice party won a majority in the first round of voting at the constituency, followed by Rimvydas Podolskis, a candidate of the Labour Party. The Central Electoral Commission said that the latter committed gross violations of the election law by bribing voters.
