"There is no final decision yet, but the possibility is indeed being considered. It is one of the options," Algirdas Butkevičius, the leader of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party, told BNS on Wednesday after negotiations with the Polish party.

Asked about other possibilities, Butkevičius said no other possibilities were discussed on Wednesday. "We had to hurry to the vote at the Seimas," he added.

The leader of the Electoral Action of Poles, Valdemar Tomaševski, did not reveal the ministry that the party may delegate a minister of.

After the negotiating meeting earlier on Wednesday, Butkevičius confirmed that the Electoral Action of Poles was joining the projected ruling center-left coalition.

"The Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania is part of the ruling coalition, (...) they will appoint the head of one ministry," Butkevičius said after a negotiating meeting.

Tomaševski confirmed the deal to join the coalition, adding the move would yet be approved by the party's council.

"The key agreements were made yesterday, we agreed on program provisions, today we agreed on other aspects of our work in the coalition and we're happy in this phase. However, our decision still requires a green light from our board," Tomaševski said.

"Our terms and conditions will be somewhat worse, therefore, we have to hold a council meeting to receive a mandate," he added. The Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania had said before it would join the ruling bloc on the condition that it receives two ministerial posts.
