The statement was confirmed by Uspaskich after meeting with Butkevičius in the Seimas on Friday. Uspaskich also noted that the candidates would be members of the Labor Party.
"We agreed with Viktor (Uspaskich) that he would shortly propose candidates for ministers of education and science, and social security and labor," Butkevičius said after the meeting.
Asked whether the Labor Party would support the government program, if the government is proposed without two of the party's candidates, Uspaskich said he would make no obstacles.
"This is not within the competences of the Labor Party's leader, we will hold an emergency meeting of the presidium, we will discuss the situation and potential new candidates, indeed, as I have already said today, I will not make any hindrances for the formation of the government," he said.
Uspaskich also maintained that he could not withdraw the proposed candidacies of Virginija Baltraitienė and Loreta Graužinienė, as they both enjoy strong authority in the party.
Earlier on Friday, President Dalia Grybauskaitė approved the government without the two ministers.
Headed by Butkevičius, the new government will receive a mandate to work after parliamentary approval of its program.
