Lithuanian Energy Minister Jaroslav Neverovič said on Wednesday evening that proposals put forward by Russian gas company Gazprom to Lithuania lacked a rational approach and adequate consideration of the real situation.

However, Neverovič, who was speaking during a live LRT TV program, did not comment on Gazprom's proposals in detail.

Speaking about an informal meeting of EU energy ministers to be held in Vilnius on Thursday, he said that the issue of Gazprom was not on the ministers' agenda, but added that it was part of a spectrum of the EU's single energy market issues.
