"We are glad that the three-country consultations on creation of the joint brigade are continuing. It is a priority project for Lithuania, which is important in the context of bilateral cooperation with Poland and amid the efforts to include Ukraine into the European security political space," Olekas said.

According to the press release, the meeting between Olekas and Polish Defense Minister Tomasz Siemoniak also addressed the military exercises held this year, NATO's air-policing mission in the Baltic states and Lithuania's upcoming presidency over the European Union (EU) Council.
