"We are all being evaluated differently by different representatives," she told journalists on Saturday, when asked about the criticism of the Social Democratic minister.
"I really hope that the minister is only beginning to work and is only gaining momentum. I really hope that she realizes herself and listens to the criticism she's given, and I also believe that she has chances to do her job as it's only the beginning of work," Grybauskaitė said.
The president also reiterated that she is against amendments to the Law on Public Procurement proposed by the Ministry of Economy. In Grybauskaitė's words, certain amendments have been criticized by law enforcement institutions as well.
"We have talked with the prime minister that we'll look for compromises, and we'll try to fix them during the adoption stage," the president said.
Since taking over as the minister or economy in November 2012, Vėsaitė has been criticized in the media for incompetence.
