According to the information, Lithuania's opposition Social Democratic Party has most members – 17,032.
Another opposition party, Labor Party, has 13,919, as compared with 13,094 and 12,336 members reported by opposition Order and Justice party and the ruling Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democratic Party.
Christian Party, currently in opposition, is reported to have 8,237 members, nearly double the membership of the ruling Liberal and Center Union (4,777) and the ruling Liberal Movement (3,645).
Lithuania's Union of Farmers and Greens has 2,663 members, Lithuanian Green Movement has 2,267 members, TAIP union reported 1,613 members and National Union said it had 1,453 members.
At the moment, there are 41 political parties in Lithuania, of which 29 had submitted membership lists to the Justice Ministry by 1 March, as required by the law.
Drąsos Kelias party, registered after 1 March, reported 1,019 members. The Justice Ministry said earlier this week it had allowed registration of the Lithuanian People's Party of businessman Vladimir Romanov.
Under Lithuanian laws, Lithuanian citizens over the age of 18 can be members of only one party.
