According to the Central Electoral Commission, 2,156, or 2,07 percent of all voters in the constituencies, voted early and at special post offices on Wednesday and Thursday.

The most active were voters in Zarasai-Visaginas constituency where 955, or 2.73 percent, cast their ballots. 779, or 2.21 percent, voted in Biržai-Kupiškis constituency, and 431, or 1.25 percent, voted in Ukmergės constituency.

The early vote on Wednesday and Thursday were organized for those who would not be able to vote on Sunday.

The by-elections in the three single-mandate constituencies will take place on Sunday, March 3.

A total of 37 politicians are vying for the three parliament seats. They have been nominated by 17 parties and three are running as independent candidates. The highest number of candidates (14) has been registered in Ukmergė, 12 in Zarasai-Visaginas, and 11 in Biržai-Kupiškis.

The constituencies of Zarasai-Visaginas and Biržai-Kupiškis have to hold by-elections due to election violations during the general polls last October, while Ukmergė has to pick a new representative to replace MP Julius Veselka who passed away last year.
