Seven members of the commission were in support of the proposal to cancel her immunity, while five were against.

The issue is yet to be put to a parliamentary vote. Striping an MP off his immunity requires votes of at least 71 parliamentarians.

Venckiene, a former judge, is suspected of failing to follow a court ruling to hand over her niece to the girl's mother and resisting the police.
