On the initiative of controversial MP Petras Gražulis, the political group registered a draft resolution on holding a mandatory referendum along the parliamentary elections in October. The MPs want to amend Article 38 of the Lithuanian Constitution. They propose enshrining in the Constitution a provision that "family is the result of marriage and parenthood. The propagation of homosexual relations is banned. Homosexual individuals must not adopt children."

The current version the Constitution suggests that "marriage is concluded upon free mutual consent of a man and a woman."

Members of the Order and Justice Party say they have already collected 47 signatures for the draft resolution to be put on the agenda of the upcoming parliamentary plenary sitting.
