Political scientists: it’s good that the EU reached agreement on its budget, but direct grants to farmers are ineffective

If European Union leaders hadn’t come to terms on the budget and economic restoration fund, this would have sent a bad signal to the markets and at the political levels. And while the union’s leaders talk a great deal of innovation, vast funding has been allocated for direct grants to farmers despite such grants being ineffective and socially unjust, political scientists say.
