According to the poll carried out by Spinter Tyrimai (Spinter Surveys) earlier this month, 26.9 percent of respondents see Butkevičius as the best candidate for the post, as compared with 15 percent in September.
The second choice for the prime minister was Labour Party leader Viktor Uspaskich, supported by 15.8 percent (12.5 percent in September).
The suitability of Rolandas Paksas, leader of the Order and Justice party, to be the prime minister has remained almost unchanged at 6.9 percent in October, as compared with 7.2 percent last month.
Meanwhile, Degutienė has lost her long standing at the top of the rankings. A month ago, 14.8 percent of respondents said the politician would be the best head of government. The percentage dropped to 6.3 percent after the first round of parliamentary elections.
The list of proposed prime ministers continues with Social Democratic MEP Vilija Blinkevičiūtė (5.6 pct), incumbent conservative Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius with support from 5.2 percent of those polled.
They are followed by Zigmantas Balčytis of the Social Democrats (5 pct), Eligijus Masiulis of the Liberal Movement (3.6 pct), Order and Justice party vice-chairman Valentinas Mazuronis (3.5 pct), and Finance Minister Ingrida Šimonytė (2 pct).
