"The Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania has defended its own honor and dignity and the honor and dignity of the entire state," the president said. Her position was communicated to BNS by her spokeswoman Daiva Ulbinaitė.

Earlier in the day, the Seimas stripped leader of the Labor Party Viktor Uspaskich and the party's two members Vytautas Gapšys and Vitalija Vonžutaitė of their legal immunity. The Labor Party's coalition partners Social Democrats and the opposition conservatives and liberals unanimously voted in favor of the motion, while MPs of the Labor Party, the Order and Justice Party, and the Electoral Action of Poles voted against.
