"The president is not taking part in the election campaign but undoubtedly and strongly recommends that everyone comes to vote. The president's only word in this pre-election campaign is come, vote, you'll have what you'll elect," Budienė said in an interview with the Žinių Radijas (News Radio) on Tuesday, asked what is the head of state's position on the Seimas election campaign.
"We often see in public opinion polls that our citizens are not satisfied with the Seimas or with the government. But we are the ones who elect the Seimas. And if considerably more people came to vote, we took more responsibility and voted more responsibly and, I would say, we voted without any jokes, then our authorities, the Seimas, the government would most probably be more trustworthy," she said.
The Seimas election is scheduled for 14 October. The election campaign was officially launched in spring.
