29,000 first-graders to start school in Lithuania

Some 29,000 first-graders will start school in Lithuania in the academic year 2013-2014, which indicates a rise by 2,000 first-graders year-on-year, the Statistics Department has said.

A total of 578,200 school and university students were enrolled in Lithuanian schools, universities and colleges at the start of the academic year 2012–2013.
