"Yes, the Chinese Embassy has informed the Ministry of Transport and Communications that the planned visit of China's vice minister of commerce Jiang Zengwei has been cancelled," Ričardas Slapšys, spokesman for the transport minister, confirmed it to the daily.
According to the newspaper, Chinese diplomats have visited the Ministry of Transport and Communications and apologized for the decision, saying that it's "only a political measure" in response to meetings with the Dalai Lama in Lithuania.
The Dalai Lama paid his third visit to Vilnius in the middle of September. He had an unofficial meeting with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė and also visited the Lithuanian parliament where he met with MPs and members of the public.
