Clashes over the Vilnius Concert and Sports Hall continue: Jewish organisation accuses Vilnius’ mayor of rejecting a project “worth a billion”

Plans to establish a modern congress centre instead of the Vilnius Concert and Sports Hall continue to stoke passions. The coalition Save Vilna has been distributing reports that supposedly, Vilnius’ mayor rejected an alternative project they proposed here despite the project potentially bringing in billions of euro for Vilnius. The municipality says that it cannot decide the future of this object because the hall belongs to Turto Bankas [the state property management institution]. Representatives from the institution responded that they have invited the coalition’s representatives numerous times for meetings but to no avail.
