"Globalization is changing higher education. And those universities who understand that they have to work in global economy - those universities that manage to understand this, to change their higher education system - those are going to be leaders. The rest will be in trouble," said the Petras Baršauskas, the rector of Kaunas University of Technology and the Lithuanian Conference of Rectors.
He also specified transdisciplinarity and cooperation with businesses as other aspects important to today's higher education.
This is the first time Lithuania is hosting the European Students' Convention, the event will last from Friday to Sunday.
