Lithuanian enthusiasts plan to stage the crossing of Napopleon's army over the Neman River and the 1812 Battle of Deltuva between the Russian and French armies.

"Judging by the number of people logging on to our website, we expect several thousand people to attend," Sigitas Sidaravičius, head of Kaunas Tourism Information Center which is organizing the event, told BNS on Friday.

He said that people from the Czech Republic and Ukraine had been asking for the event's detailed program, and two TV channels from Belarus would come to film the event.

Over 800 history fans from France, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Latvia, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania are expected to come to Kaunas.
