Jonas Liesis, head of the Lithuanian delegation, said the next Assembly meeting should take place in November in Poland. The last meeting was held in Vilnius in May 2009.

"We can say that there was no bitter conversation. Everything went smoothly, in a good-natured manner, with positive implications. There was more optimism and objectives than denial. This year, the Assembly should take place in Poland. We'll mark the 15th anniversary," Liesis said at a pres conference on Tuesday.

He said he heard promises of the Polish side at the meeting to increase funding for Lithuanian schools, and to publish more Lithuanian textbooks.

Liesis also said he got an impression that Polish planned to solve their nationals' problems in Lithuania following general elections in Lithuania as they hope the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania to get more seats in the parliament. In the current parliament, they have three.

Lithuanian-Polish relations have been tense recently amid disagreements over certain issues regarding ethnic minorities, including spelling of names, bilingual street signs and education.
