The draft says the trilateral military unit or its elements will be ready to take part in international operations approved by the United Nations Security Council.
The brigade's headquarters would be situated in Lublin, Poland.
Based on the agreements, every country "is responsible for funding of its national unit during joint exercises, during the preparation for operations and during operations, unless the executive bodies agree otherwise."
"The structure of the brigade and its command, personnel, equipment, training methods, management, composition, rotation and other aspects of activity are defined in the Technical Agreement signed by competent ministers and (or) ministries in charge of defense (national defense) of the Countries," the draft agreement submitted to interested institutions and the public for consideration says.
The Technical Agreement has not been made public yet.
Earlier this month, Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Juozas Olekas told BNS he saw possibility of signing an agreement on the establishment of a Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian military unit – brigade – this year.
Such a brigade would consist of around 4,500 troops and the Lithuanian, Polish, and Ukrainian units would stay in their permanent deployment locations when not taking part in international operations.
