“We first have to get official answers about the purpose of that risk management [in Russia] so as to be able to make decisions… We stay in contact with the authorities, there are promises to send the answers, but specific dates have not been set,” Alminas Mačiulis, government chancellor, told BNS after the Cabinet’s meeting on Thursday.
He said that the government might decide on specific measures on Monday.
“The government may decide on Monday what else to do… The situation changes constantly and we may have to make some decisions tomorrow. Yet now we see that the situation is at least not getting worse,” he said.
Russia introduced thorough checks on Lithuania-registered cars on August 30, which were followed by the tightening of controls on cargoes sent by Lithuania, as the consignor, on September 11.
