Lithuanian Art Museum opening exhibition dedicated to 1863 uprising

One of the first exhibitions at the Lithuanian Art Museum will be dedicated to the 1863-1864 uprising in Lithuania and Poland, which was an unsuccessful attempt to liberate the country from the rule of tzarist Russia.

Other branches of the museum should shortly present Russian art of the XIX-XX centuries, paintings from the Hermitage and the Louvre museums. The exhibitions will be on in Palanga Amber Museum that is currently under renovation.

In the end of January, the Museum of Applied Arts will open an exhibition titled Signs of the 1863 Uprising in the cycles Lituania and Polonia by Artur Grottger.
