Festival programmers paid special attention to Lithuanian classics and present an intriguing line-up: Vytautas Mikalauskas’ Blue Horizon (lit. Žydrasis horizontas, 1957), Arūnas Žebriūnas’ The Girl and the Echo (lit. Paskutinė atostogų diena, 1964), Vytautas Žalakevičius’ Adam Wants To Be a Man (lit. Adomas nori būti žmogumi, 1959), Algirdas Araminas’ The Small Confession (lit. Maža išpažintis, 1971) and Raimundas Banionis’ Children from the Hotel America (Vaikai iš Amerikos viešbučio, 1990). Banionis will join a discussion after the screening of his film. Lithuanian classics’ program will be introduced by Dovilė Grigaliūnaitė.

Justinas Krisiūnas’ film Hearts (lit. Širdys) will be screened at the festival’s Youth Competition program. The film tells a story of two young lovers who meet at the sanatorium for people with heart diseases. The director of the film will also attend the screening. Lina Užkuraitytė, the director of the Lithuanian International Vilnius Film Festival for Children and Youth, is one of this year’s International Jury.

Lithuanian-Latvian-Czech co-production Bile (dir. Ināra Kolmane) will be competing at Children’s Films Competition.

Five Lithuanian short films are also included in the program: Quartz (lit. Kvarcas, dir. Odeta Riškutė, Klaudija Matvejevaitė, 2018), animated film Running Lights (lit. Kaukai, dir. Gediminas Šiaulys, 2017), Junction (lit. Virsmas, dir. Nathan Jurevicius, 2016), Drought (lit. Sausra, dir. Agnė Kupšytė, Balys Kumža, 2015) and a short documentary A Nordic Skater (lit. Čiuožėjas, dir. Paulius Neverbickas, 2018).
