He has registered an amendment to the Law on Memorable Days and proposed to mark the International Day for Tolerance on November 16.

"UNESCO declared November 16 the International Day for Tolerance in 1995 and the day is marked every year in many democratic countries. (...) Tolerance is neither a privilege nor indifference. It's understanding, appreciating, and respecting the variety of global cultures, forms of expression and being a human being. Tolerance recognizes universal human values and fundamental freedoms of others. People by nature are different and only tolerance can ensure the survival of mixed communities in every corner of the world," Juozapaitis explained his initiative.

In his words, today tolerance is often referred to as "the value at risk", and the aim of his proposed amendment is to promote tolerance in Lithuania. It would also "create favorable conditions for improving the crime situation."

The list of memorable days currently includes 54 occasions.
