The national team coach Jonas Kazlauskas should announce the list of candidates after the conclusion of the basketball club season. In his words, it's not clear yet as to whether Real Madrid small forward Martynas Pocius and Žalgiris Kaunas power forward Paulius Jankūnas will recover until then.

The national team will gather for a training camp in the western Lithuanian resort of Palanga on July 15. The team will train in Kaunas, central Lithuania, on July 23-30 and will then move to Klaipėda where they are scheduled to play the first two friendlies against Belgium on August 5 and 6.

Later on, Lithuania will play against Sweden, Macedonia, Finland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Georgia. Matches in Lithuania will take place in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, and Panevėžys.

According to Kazlauskas, it's already clear that Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valančiūnas will be late for the training camp.

The coach said it was too early to announced the full candidate list.

"The candidate list is in my briefcase and now contains around 18 players, which is too many. Matches are still taking place, and someone might get injured. There are also players who have doubts. I don't want to announce a list of 15 or 14 players and then have to change it and offend someone," Kazlauskas told journalists.
