"Troops invite Lithuanian people to join their and their relatives' initiative to knit clothes for children and improve at lives of at least some children in Ghor province and brighten up the upcoming winter," the Ministry of National Defense said in a statement.
It's not the first social campaign organized by Lithuanian troops going to Afghanistan. Members of previous shifts of the Lithuanian-led Provincial Reconstruction Team also brought items knit by Lithuanian people and drawings of Lithuanian children to Afghanistan.
The 16th PRT shift will leave for Afghanistan in November.
