According to results of the global survey, 34 percent of residents of 59 countries say that immigration is a good thing, 38 percent said immigration is a bad thing, 23 percent say it is "neither good nor bad", and 5 percent did not answer the question.
The average immigration support index is minus 4. It is minus 39 percent in Lithuania. Asked whether immigration, including incoming foreign workers, is a good or bad thing, 16 percent of Lithuanian residents said that it's good, 56 percent said it was a bad thing, 21 percent believe that it is neither good nor bad, and 7 percent did not answer the question.
The lowest immigration support index is in Bosnia and Herzegovina – minus 63. And the highest index is in Nigeria, standing at as high as 65 percent.
The survey of 53,433 people from 59 countries was carried out last November-December and in January 2012.
