According to the press release, the incident occurred at about 6:40 PM local time.
"Two missiles were launched in the direction of Chagcharan, one of them exploded next to the headquarters of Ghor National Security Directorate, while the other went off outside the city," the ministry said.
The incident caused no damages or injuries to Lithuanian soldiers who are serving in the Chagcharan-based Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT).
"Local security and PRT response forces were dispatched to the suspected location of missile launch a few kilometers north of Chagcharan to scan the location for possible further attacks. After completing the task, local security forces and PRT troops returned to the place deployment," the ministry said.
According to the press release, individuals who fired the missiles are yet to be identified, the situation in the Ghor capital is described as stable.
