Lithuanian dairy products hold approximately one percent of the market in entire Russia. However, they are among the most popular goods in the region of Kaliningrad. Gennady Abramenko, director of commerce at Victoria, the biggest supermarket chain in the region, believes that the chain may not be short of milk but the supply of dairy products will diminish considerably.
“The supermarkets will be short of yoghurt, sweet dairy products, desserts. These products are not produced in Kaliningrad and the Poles will not manage to fill this market up too quickly,” he said.
