The singer says she plans to sing only the mezzo-soprano parts of Requiem from then on.

Urmanavičiūtė-Urmana will perform alongside her husband tenor Alfredo Nigro, bass Riccardo Zanellato, mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili, the choir of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater and Kaunas State Choir.

"It's difficult to predict what your voice might want in three, four years. The voice and the body are changing, and we need to respond in time and predict what the voice might want in the future," the Lithuanian opera singer said at a press conference on Monday.

"It will be my last performance as a soprano. I will not longer sing as a soprano in Verdi's Requiem," Urmanavičiūtė-Urmana said.

She said she wanted to enjoy singing and her work and not to live in tension as her voice was no longer a pure soprano. Moreover, Urmanavičiūtė-Urmana revealed she wanted to sing Richard Wagner's parts.

"I have not sung Wagner for 10 years. Italian dramatic soprano parts are demanding, there's a completely different approach. Time comes when you want to relax and enjoy more what you do, as now tension exists that I might get a cold. I want to live more after those 10 years," the singer said.

Urmanavičiūtė-Urmana also said that performing in Lithuania makes her feel special. "When I come here, it's a special feeling to sing in Lithuania as I know that people love me here, responsibility increases because of that, but I know they will forgive me if I slip," the famous Lithuanian opera singer said.
