Political scientists describe minster’s visit to Belarus as a test, perceive no major threats

A visit by Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius to Belarus, which has faced criticism in Lithuania, has been described by a political scientist as a “natural step” in seeking to check political views and ideas, which have emerged following the presidential elections. Nevertheless, Lithuania’s attention to its neighbour should be perceived in a broader context – with bilateral contacts gradually increasing, during the weekend, Belarus was visited by the US secretary of state.
