Jonas Milius, the director of the Lithuanian State Food and Veterinary Service, has told BNS that he is going to Moscow next week and is planning to meet with officials from Rospotrebnadzor, the federal service that makes decisions on imports.

"It was from media reports that I heard about the possibility of Russia completely banning Lithuanian dairy product imports. We have not received any official information or documents, or warnings, so I don't know what to comment," he said.

Rospotrebnadzor chief Gennady Onishchenko said on Wednesday that Russia might completely ban imports of dairy products from Lithuania.
