The exercise on 1-12 September will be attended by patrol vessel P12 Dzūkas and mine-hunter M52 Sūduvis, which is part of the Baltic warship unit, the Defense Ministry said.
The exercise will bring together nearly 40 various types of warships from 14 countries: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, the United Kingdomk, and the United States.
The exercise aims to improve the interaction capacities of warships and command centers in case of regional crisis and in the framework of NATO marine operations doctrines and procedures in fighting air, surface, and submarine targets.
Under the exercise scenario, the military units will be divided into two groups, with one simulating an attack and the other one providing assistance to the country under attack.
