The term PropTech (property technology) refers to the application of digital technologies and platforms in the real estate sectors. PropTech solutions are seen as one of the key ones that can help achieve the goals of the European Green Course.

And although they are not new in the real estate market, we see that closer cooperation between participants in this sector, IT experts and the scientific community can help create more new ideas, more effective solutions, as well as increase the international competitiveness of a country's business," says INFOBALT director Mindaugas Ubartas.

In its activities, the PropTechLT group intends to focus on initiating the development of a unified information system, digitization of building management and monitoring processes, development of good building management practices in municipalities and other related areas.
"The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania welcomes the initiative to establish the PropTechLT group, involving the widest possible range of stakeholders. We understand that not only technological solutions that enable changes are needed, but also changes in legal regulation. At the same time, we note that successful programming of the latter is possible by assessing the entire life cycle of real estate (RE). Data on the structure and content required for the use, maintenance and management of RE is created during the design, construction and completion processes, but often the main challenge is their usage and suitability specifically for the use, maintenance and management of real estate. In order to solve these tasks, the Ministry of Environment together with its partners is implementing the BIM-LT project, one of the goals of which is to create a national construction information classification system and to create uniform rules for the application of building information modelling. The Ministry of Environment is making the necessary changes in legal regulation, for example, promoting the use of the electronic construction works logbook and the electronic structure technical passport,” says Dainius Čergelis, Head of the Construction and Territorial Planning Policy Group of the Ministry of Environment.
INFOBALT PropTechLT Group currently unites Civinity, Infoera, In Re, Hnit Baltic, Citify, Pingin, Microsoft, Faculty of Construction and Architecture of Kaunas University of Technology and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University . Among the group's partners are the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, Vilnius City Municipality, the Center of Registers, the Association of Lithuanian Municipalities, and the Public Enterprise Atnaujinkime miestą (Let's renew the city).
