Around ten thousand football fans of Dynamo Kiev and Shakhtar Donetsk participated in a "march of unity" in Lviv Tuesday, ahead of the Super Cup match between these two teams later in the day.
Fans from the two teams, plus local team FC Karpati Lviv, gathered on Market Square in Lviv, shouting slogans such as "Glory to the nation!", "Death to enemies!", "Beat the Muscovites!" and various chants directed at Russian president Vladimir Putin.
The crowd later proceeded towards the stadium, with some fans playing drums and setting off flares and fireworks during the march. Many in the crowd were holding banners and flags, including the Ukrainian flag and the red and black flag of Right Sector.
Shakhtar Donetsk beat Dynamo Kiev 2-0, scoring both goals in the second half to win the Ukrainian Super Cup. Shakhtar Donetsk is set to play their home games in Lviv.
