A newly qualified driver in China crashed his car into a river just ten minutes after passing his test.
Mr Zhang was distracted reading messages on his mobile phone congratulating him for passing his driving test when he swerved into the canal.
He claimed that when he looked up from his phone and saw two pedestrians in front of him, he turned sharply to avoid them.
No-one was hurt, and local police arrived on the scene and managed to salvage the vehicle.
The incident took place on Laoping Bridge in the Chinese province of Guizhou.
