The MinION from Oxford Nanopore is a portable, real-time DNA/RNA sequencing device. It can be used in the laboratory or in the field.
The workflow is very simple compared to traditional sequencing technologies. Library preparation can be performed in as little as ten minutes.
The MinION can be used for a range of analysis techniques including RNA sequencing/transcriptomics, DNA resequencing, de novo sequencing, whole genome sequencing or targeted sequencing, metagenomics, 16S analysis and structural variant analysis.
