The Jane Goodall Institute's Chimpanzee Eden, located near Nelspruit, South Africa, is home to several rescued chimpanzees. This place was featured in the Animal Planet show "Escape to Chimp Eden." While on vacation in South Africa, we stopped by this place and got a tour. You can also get a tour if you're in the area. Chimpanzee Eden rescues chimps that have been abused or neglected, or are being kept as pets. (Why would anyone want a chimp as a pet? Seriously...)
