American Airlines Emergency Landing, Dieppe NB

Airport, Dieppe & Moncton Fire Depts. , Ambulances and Codiac R.C.M.P. responded to a call at the Moncton International Airport for a call that a Boeing 777 American Airlines with 154 people on board going to Chicago from London, for smoke in the cockpit just after 2:30 P.M. this afternoon. Airport security guided emergency staff to the north gate of the airport on Aviation Ave. Firefighters boarded the aircraft to investigate the problem and the passengers stayed on the plane. Problem was batteries overheating in the belly of the plane. Nobody was hurt during the landing, but 1 passenger was checked for anxiety. Most of the Police , Fire and Ambulances cleared the scene around 3:20 P.M. with few staying behind in case there was any other problems.
