SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento Kings knocked down 19 3-point shots and made 46 of 88 shots from the field in their 120-107 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at Golden 1 Center on March 13 in front of a sellout crowd of 18,332 spectators.
They won the season series (4-0) and they did it by winning their second game in as many nights by forcing 14 Lakers turnovers and collecting 11 steals. It was the first time the King (38-27, 19-12 at G1C) pulled the broom out on the Lakers since the 2015-2016 season.
De’Aaron Fox had 21 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1 steal. Domantas Sabonis added a triple-double in the form of 17 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block shot. Kegan Murray contributed 19 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Harrison Barns had 23 points, making 7 of 11 treys in 3-point territory.
The Kings were without Kevin Huerter (right leg contusion) and Trey Lyles (left knee sprain). Keon Ellis started for the second-consecutive game scoring 14 points, making 3 3-pointers, and collecting 3 steals on defense. The Kings are 3-0 when Ellis is in the starting lineup.
Austin Reeves had 28 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal for the Lakers (36-31, 12-20 on the road). Rui Hachimura had 20 points while LeBron James added 18 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists, and two steals in 40 minutes.
Anthony Davis had 22 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Davis is 0-10 in career games against Domantas Sabonis. The Lakers bench produced 12 points in the loss.
The Kings' biggest lead was when Fox made a 7-foot floater at the 10:44 tick of the fourth quarter to make the score 93-76. The Lakers never got closer than 9 points the rest of the way.
? The Sacramento Kings will play their fifth game of the 6-game home stand on March 16 against the New York Knicks and the final contest at G1C on March 18 against the Memphis Grizzlies. Both games start at 7 p.m., PST. Kings Climb to the 6th spot in NBA Western Conference.
