- A Golden Retriever named Romeo was rescued from a collapsed building in Amatrice, Italy after being trapped for 9 days under rubble from last week's earthquake.
After days of waiting, firefighters rescued the dog from the rubble of his owner's collapsed home more than a week after a 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit central Italy.
The firefighters accompanied a couple back to their house to recover some of their belongings when they heard the dog barking.
There was plenty of love for Romeo when he made it back to his owners. Romeo appeared to be in good health despite days in the rubble.
The quake on August 25 claimed nearly 300 lives, injured hundreds of people and left thousands of residents homeless when several towns and hamlets were devastated.
